1 - Days Hands on Workshop on
“MANUAL THERAPY FOR CERVICAL DYSFUNCTIONS”

The cervical Dysfunctions are common in the present era due to use of computers and mobile phones. In this workshop the various mechanical dysfunctions, pathomechanics of the cervical facet, disc and muscles will be covered.
WORKSHOP CONTENTS :
Introduction: 1 Hr
Eras of development in Physiotherapy, Introduction to Manual Therapy (Different Schools of Thought), Manual Therapy: Definitions, Indications and Contraindications, Biomechanical Principles in Manual Therapy (Fryette's Laws, Concave-Convex rule, Close pack and Loose pack Positions, Joint status gradings), Barrier concepts, Assessment of dominant eye, Biomechanics of Cervical Spine.
Cervical Region Assessment Techniques: 02 Hrs
Principles of Subjective Examination, Clinical Reasoning and Physical Examination for Cervical Region, VBI Testings, Passive Physiological Intervertebral Movements (PPIVM's), Passive Accessory Intervertebral Movements (PAIVM's) and Combined Movements in Cervical region.
Cervical Region Manual Therapy Techniques: 05 Hrs
Mobilisation for Upper and Lower Cervical region, Atlanto-Occipital joint C0-C1: Contact point on Occiput; Atlanto-Occipital joint C0-C1: Contact point on Atlas Atlanto- Axial C1-C2: Chin hold.Atlanto-axial joint C1-C2: Cradle hold.
Cervical spine C2-C7: Up-slope gliding; patient supine.Cervical spine C2-C7: Up-slope gliding; cradle hold.Cervical spine C2-C7: Down-slope gliding with chin-hold; patient supine. Cervical spine C2-C7: Down-slope gliding with cradle hold; patient supine.
Muscle Energy Techniques (MET)and Myofascial Release (MFR) Techniques for Suboccipitals, Trapezius, Levator Scapulae, Sternocleidomastoid and Scalenii Muscles.
